This is our first choice for canning our apple pie in a jar and is our first taste of fresh apple pie for the season. 

Peanuts favorite apple, until the next one ripens.

We also use this in our apple sauces and apple butters.  We do add sugar when using the Duchess apples because of the tart flavor it has without it.  Don't worry we don't cover up all the tartness.

While not an excellent keeper it holds its flavor.  They started to soften after about two months in the cooler.
